I was inspired by the CYOA works from many other sources, including NationStates. Therefore, I decided to make a CYOA on this forum. The concept of CYOAs is simple for anyone who is unaware. Someone (in this case, me) would give people a story and a set of options about what a character can do. After an option receives a majority, such as if it is the first to receive X number of votes, it would be selected as the main choice for the next event. The story would continue and the CYOA would operate until the storymaker (also me in this case) decides to end it. Of course, the story will have at least some twists or "unexpected" parts, so don't always expect the events to proceed normally.
The below story will proceed if an option has received more votes than any other options. Change of plans: the first option to be voted on will be selected and continue the story. Also, if a person selects options too many times (I'll set it to 3 times in a row), that person will not be able to select options for the next three events (unless the only people involved is the OP/me and that person). Below is an example:
Me: *shows Event 1* Guy 1: *picks option* Me: *shows Event 2* Guy 1: *picks option* Me: *shows Event 3* Guy 1: *picks option* Me: *shows Event 4* Guy 2: *picks option* - Guy 1 selected options 3 times in a row and cannot select options temporarily Me: *shows Event 5* Guy 3: *picks option* Me: *shows Event 6* Guy 4: *picks option* Me: *shows Event 7* Guy 1: *picks option* - ban on Guy 1 lifted and can continue until he consecutively selected 3 options again (this goes on and on)
Here goes the first section:
You will soon become an official citizen of Maxtopia, a country very well-known across the world. It is today that you will attend a formal citizenship ceremony, say the Maxtopian Oath, and receive your coded citizenship certificate. These certificates grant you one of the most prestigious status any foreigners can get, and they are personally signed by ministers and even the president himself. Only a few hundred people would pass the vigorous citizenship process every year, and you happen to be one of the lucky masses.
It is morning and you wake up from your bed. You are dressed in your pajamas and you are feeling a strong desire to get back on the bed. Aside from being disrupted annoyingly by your ringing digital clock, succeeding a predecessor you happen to smash open a few weeks ago, you listened to the wonderful chirps of birds from the outside world. Somehow the beautiful music reminded you that you'll receive one of Maxtopia's grand awards and, ultimately, the ceremony will be pleasant. However, the morning always seemed bleak and boring, and you wanted to start your day with something... active. But how?
A. Go outside with your pajamas B. Phone someone C. Watch the television D. Go back to sleep E. Continue standing and stay there

A that is! I had to change how the story would proceed. You lifted away the translucent violet curtain and glared at the outside world. There are rows of neighboring houses, all modern and medium-sized. The lawns look freshly cut and it reflects the bright sunlight with grass, flowers, and trees. The birds chirp beautifully still. It seems to be a wonderful day, but the only thing amiss is that nobody else is outside. It gave the impression of desolation. That's when you decided to get out in your pajamas. You always remembered to eat breakfast (toast with Max Berry jam), brush your teeth, and wash your face, because that is what a proper Maxtopian or Maxtopian-to-be would always do. Cloth changing was not included, so you grabbed your keys and Backpack for Interesting Things (BIT) before you head out of the door and locked it. You turned around and you still see no others, just the same idyllic scenery you saw in the house. You walked right into the middle of the asphalt roads and tried to spot any cars to no avail. Soon you hear a faint rumbling. It's coming from somewhere distant but it sure is getting louder and closer. There also arrives a whooshing sound, coming from another place but still nearing towards you. What should you do now? A. Investigate the sounds B. Fear the sounds and run away C. Get back into the house D. Hide in somewhere that's safe E. Sit down and cry

With no one else in proximity and with sadness and fear overwhelming yourself, you broke down on the middle of the empty street crying. The crying did nothing to deter the ever-nearing rumbling and whooshing, and you knew something terrible would be happening any minute. However, the sounds become clear while you wept; the rumbling was revealed to be from several Maxtopian tanks and armored personnel carriers, while the whooshing came from a military-grade helicopter.
The tanks and APCs stopped, having obviously noticed you sitting on the road and sobbing away. The helicopter, noticing you as well, stationed wherever it was up in the air. One of the tank's driver hatch lifts up and out came a suited and armed personnel. Confused at your situation, he shouted towards you, "What's going on there? Something distressing?"
You struggled to answer. "I just felt... something... terrible..."
The personnel, holding a Maxtopian PW-137 Assault Rifle (respected and feared across the world), seemed to understand your breakdown. "Maybe you should come with the armed forces. There is a huge problem unveiling across southern Maxtopia, and this neighborhood appears to have been evacuated prior. You did not seem to be evacuated, but that is not important now. There is not much time left, so we need to leave now."
You are still overwhelmed by your own sadness, but you were comforted lightly by the armed forces. You are brought to a nearly-empty APC, which contained only three other personnel (one driver, two soldiers). Sooner or later, the vehicles that caused the mysterious rumbling and whooshing left the desolate neighborhood to an unknown place. The crew on your APC told some interesting facts and jokes about the Maxtopian armed forces, which you did not know too well, but something sinister is said to be spreading over your new homeland. It is quite apparent that the citizenship certificate no longer mattered, and the main goal would be to investigate what is seriously going on.
You open your mouth and began speaking...
A. "What is this problem that the armed forces had told about?" B. "Where are we heading to?" C. "What happened to my neighborhood?" D. "Is Maxtopia falling?" E. "Is the world falling?"

After you managed to stop crying, you have thought of asking the people on your APC about your neighborhood. You asked one of the soldiers, "What happened to my neighborhood?"
"It was evacuated if you noticed," Soldier A replied. "Frankly for the past few days the population of the neighborhood dwindled to zero - well, one for you. They left by themselves as told by the local government, which issued a state of emergency and an evacuation order. The armed forces were called into your district to find anyone that has not evacuated and to bring them to safety."
"Well, what is with the evacuation? What is really going on?"
"The top officials do not always disclose information to our post-evacuation search-and-rescue squadron. However, we know that it is some kind of an... infection. It's not a zombie or alien or any kind of monster infection, but it is serious and spreading rapidly across many parts of Maxtopia. Your neighborhood and district were on the verge of infection. We were surprised when we found you uninfected, because the neighborhood would have been affected had it not been evacuated."
"Infection?" You are always fascinated at disease outbreaks of history. For example, the Flu Outbreak of 1914 wiped out many of the rural Maxtopians. The next was the 1980 Black Death Outbreak in the poorest regions of Bigtopia (a hostile enemy of Maxtopia), which slaughtered a lot of people and nearly brought Bigtopia and Maxtopia to war. This outbreak is unusual because you imagined that it occurred not so long ago. What is even more unusual was how the newspapers, news networks, or any news station did not report it. You are interested in finding out more about anything related to the outbreak.
A. Ask, "What is the disease called?" B. Ask, "Is the disease affecting countries other than Maxtopia?" C. Ask if Bigtopia will invade Maxtopia D. Call your parents E. Break down and cry again

You feared Bigtopian aggression because one of the past outbreaks broke up Bigtopian-Maxtopian relations and devolved the situation to a dire state. You asked Soldier B, "Will the Bigtopians invade?"
"Not by the looks of it, no. They aren't going to invade right away. However, the infection is already spreading in southern Bigtopia and the Bigtopian government is already blaming us Maxtopians for the outbreak. Looks like the 1980 outbreak dilemma will happen all over again if this doesn't stop."
"Well..." you mumbled, "it can't look too good for the future..."
Within a few minutes you are brought to what appears to be a large base. It was surrounded by large electric fences, barbed wire, and concrete wall, implying a heavily-defended base. It as well was populated by a variety of people; there were tired civilians, lab-coat scientists, camouflaged soldiers, tiny children and babies, and elders. Those that are not scientists or soldiers are definitely refugees or evacuees. Before you and your APC troops enter the isolated place, armed soldiers in yellow hazmat suits directed you to a secure room away from the population.
You sit on a hospital bed away from the other soldiers you were with. A hazmat doctor approaches you with a syringe and said, "Testing is compulsory to prevent contamination. Please roll your sleeves up." You did what the scientist told you to before he or she rubbed alcohol onto your arm and injected the sharp needle. The scientist quickly extracts some blood, applies wet cotton onto the injection site, and instructed you to put pressure on the site with the cotton. After half an hour, he or she returned with delightful news, announcing, "You are clear of the infection. Welcome to Basis Nova."
You leave the hazmat room and you are introduced to a somewhat-isolated, cramped world. Basis Nova seems uncomfortably squished and hot, but at least you get to have food, water, and a place to live. You thought you saw the same APC soldiers directed by another higher-ranking operative to another place, but you might be fooled by your mind. Anyways, you spotted large camps that are open to civilians, but which one should be visited?
A. Science center; perhaps you can get a grip on the infection B. Skills training camp; maybe you can get some knowledge on what to do, like repairing C. Clinic; if your mind continues to fool you, getting treatment can be wise D. Necessities stores; gather your foods, drinks (water or juice), and clothing here E. Shelter; find a place to rest and live
